[00:00:02] Hi, this is Russ Walden with Father's Heart Ministry, and welcome to the Mentoring Minute.
[00:00:11] I remember years ago pastoring a church in central Louisiana where I was so moved in the discipline of prayer that I announced to the congregation that I felt more called to pray for them than to preach to them.
[00:00:35] It was interesting that they immediately convened a pulpit committee to vacate the pulpit, because they said, we don't pay you to pray, we pay you to preach.
[00:00:50] But prayer changes things.
[00:00:56] Prayer is such a vital part of being a shepherd over God's flock. And so I just want to pray for you today. If I could lead you into prayer, if I could influence you in the area of prayer. My father was a true prayer warrior. I loved to listen to my father pray. He was not only my natural father, but he was my spiritual father as well.
[00:01:29] And just heaven and earth moved when that man prayed.
[00:01:35] And if someone asks me, what is my life's goal, my answer has always been the same. I want to have a prayer life like my father's.
[00:01:46] So I want to pray for you today. Father, we come before you today remembering the mandate of your Word. Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need.
[00:02:07] Father, we trust.
[00:02:09] And it's interesting that there in Hebrews 14:16, to find grace to help in a time of need.
[00:02:18] Other translations have rendered that in the nick of time.
[00:02:22] How many of you are ready for a nick of time? Deliverance by God's hand? Father, we trust in your goodness, knowing that you're the almighty God, you're the creator of heaven and earth, and that nothing is impossible for you.
[00:02:40] Or you said in Matthew 19:26, With God all things are possible. So we lift up to you. I believe that those who have tuned into this stream are in a divine appointment. Father, we lift up to you those who are struggling with fear, doubt, discouragement, anxiety, depression.
[00:03:09] Father, we ask that you would just fill them with your peace and with your joy, that you'd remind them of your promise. In Isaiah 41:10, you said, Fear not, for I am with you. God, we believe that you're with us. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Lord, you're God over the situation. The situation isn't God over us. You are God over the situation.
[00:03:33] And you said, I will strengthen you. I will help you. God, we're looking for your strength, and we're anticipating your help.
[00:03:41] You said, yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And I know you said in 1st Corinthians 1:30 that Jesus in his person is our righteousness.
[00:03:54] So, God, we know that you're strengthening us. You're upholding us. We have nothing to fear because you're with us. We have nothing to be dismayed about because you are our God. And so we're looking for your strength and we're looking for your help.
[00:04:11] Lord, I know that one word. That one word prayer, help is so powerful. We know that you're helping us and you're upholding us. God, I pray for those who are facing challenges and trials.
[00:04:25] You said in 2nd Corinthians 4:17, for our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works in us a far more and exceeding weight. Glory.
[00:04:39] 2nd Corinthians 4:17. I know sometimes God have cried out to you. I said, where is God in all of this? What is God doing? You may be going through something and you're just crying out, God, what are you doing? I don't understand. God says to you, I am working in that suffering, in that thing that you're going through. God says, I'm working for you. A far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. And what is the weight of glory? Paul said that God meets all of our needs out of his riches and glory. The weight of the glory is the riches of the glory from which God meets your need. Father, I ask that you would give those praying with me today, give them strength and courage to overcome, and that these experiences they're going through, you would use them to draw them closer to you.
[00:05:33] Those that are seeking addiction from. Seeking deliverance from addiction, those that are seeking deliverance from addiction, those that are seeking deliverance from sickness or any other bondage.
[00:05:46] Lord, you said in John 8:32 that you'll know the truth and the truth will make you free. God, I pray that you would set them free and restore them to wholeness. Set them free from addiction, free from sickness, free from chronic illness, free from any other bondage. Those that are suffering ptsd, those that are suffering from loneliness, that you would just set them free. Because you. You said that, Jesus, you are the way, the truth, and the life. Our truth is a person. His name is Jesus. We know you, and because we know you, we're expectant to be set free. We believe, God, that you're a God of miracles.
[00:06:27] And so, Father, I ask that you would just move in a mighty way in the lives of your people. You said, with men, things are impossible, but with you, all things are possible.
[00:06:41] Father, I pray that you would pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and that we would be empowered to live lives that are pleasing to you.
[00:06:53] And we thank you today, Father, for your love. And we thank you for your faithfulness. And we praise you for the victory that is ours through Jesus Christ. You said in Romans 8:37 that in all these things. What things? What we're going through, we're more than conquerors through you because you love us.
[00:07:16] We may not know much, but one thing we do know is that you love us.
[00:07:21] And so, God, we're expecting not just to conquer, but to become more than conquerors, to become occupiers of the territory that you've given us. This footprint of our life drenched by the blood of Christ.
[00:07:39] Lord, we're looking to you and we're expecting divine supernatural intervention. Lord. Break off of us those things that are holding us kept. Break off of us those things that are robbing us of our joy.
[00:07:57] We pray a mighty delivering prayer, looking to you and the promise of your word.
[00:08:04] And let this day be a banner day. Let it be a day that things begin to turn in the directions that bring us out of captivity, out of any bondage to circumstances, situations that are beyond our control. What we can't do for ourselves, we know that you're going to do. We thank you for it, Father, in Jesus name, Amen. I just speak a blessing over you today. We've been given commandment to bless. And I bless you in Jesus name. Go out in your day and just experience the reign of the Holy Spirit in every area of your life.
